Well, Shaun summed up nicely what I wanted to say ;-) I've just watched your "Ireland Celtic Movie" on Youtube for the umpteenth time and can't wait for the CD "Eire: Isle of the Saints" I ordered to arrive. Your music just is hauntingly beautiful - thanks for the great work you're doing! Cheers, Christine

We have a minor small world connection. I have visited Randy Sparks and his sister at their bar/home in Moekuloumme Hill and I have a signed album from Ricki Lee. (my boss dated one of Ricki's cousins)

I enjoyed the too-brief clip of your playing.
I have a 12 string harp which is supposedly a 1908 Symphony brand ?)
I don't know where to take it to authenticate its' origin and pedigree. Any ideas/thoughts ?
Obviously a luthier of some experience, but who ?

We are having a Doan Family reunion in the village of Galahad, Alberta on July 25, 26, 27, 2008-the Lord willing! This is the family of Albert Doan (descendent of Ebenezer Doan)& Matilda Johnson. My mom (Bertha EUNICE) was the oldest in that family. I believe you met my cousin Hazel Doan Reeh.
We farm in east central AB.
Would love to hear your music, as I read the comments...it sounds heavenly!

Bought your album "Isle of the Saints" in Portland, O. a few years ago while visiting my son there. Especially love the Lamentation of Torlough O'Carolan. A beautiful instrument played by a skilled artist.

John.. Your a king in the world of music and guitar. I cant get enough of Wayfarer and I am just beginning to discover the previous albums. It is not just the technical perfection of your playing, it is the beauty that resonates from it! I cant wait for more works from the maestro of twenty strings!

Saw you last week in San Diego. Haven't ever heard of you, or hear your music, I went in with no expectations of what your music was like. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! I (as a guitar player) have never heard anything so beautiful and pleasant. After the first song, I was silently hoping I could somehow get some of your music - - and then you said you had CDs for sale at intermission. I bought one, and my brother, who lives in San Diego and I was visiting, bought 2. I just got back from Cal (I live in North Texas), and played them for my wife - she loves it to! My mission now is to find out how to connect you with the local university, which is famous for its music, especially the jaz department, and see if we can't get you a performance here (University of North Texas)! I'm sure the students and locals will love your music too. I'll be keeping in touch! Until then, keep up the beautiful music!

Hello Fellow Musician,
I really love the instrument you play and the tunes you've composed. I'm a great fan of Irish music myself and really fell in love with your style of playing the slow airs and tunes.

Hi John.
So great to see that you continue with your inspiration. Not sure if you remember me or not, but I was a student of yours at WOSC back in 1987. I moved to Alaska in 1987 and have been involved in the music scene ever since. The last 10 years or so I've been playing bluegrass in a great group. I know,it was not a part of your lesson plan, but it does make the heart glad. Heck, I even play in the national bluegrass band for the Department of Interior. crazy eh? Anyway, I hope all is well with you. Thank you so much for the knowledge.

Hi! Please include me in your mailing list so that I can see you perform if you're ever in the Chicago area. I got a chance to speak Murial Andersen after a performance last month and she mentioned that there might be some duo music forthcoming. I can't wait! Please let me know!

I have gone to your shows over the years and enjoyed each and everyone. This year I was not able to get to your Christmas show...SIGH. I live in Washington county... So let me know when you will be here and I will be there. I have about played Departures out of existance. After a stressful day I play Departures and feel the stress leave...Thank you for the joy and the peace. And, I loved Burl Ives also. What a rich voice he had. Take care.

I first heard you perform while I was a student at Willamette University, and I was instantly entralled and forever enamored with the soothing melodies of the Harp Guitar. I scrapped together the cost of one CD and have since been a fan. Thank you for gracing the world with this sound, sounds I sleep to, study to, relax to and deeply enjoy. ~Many blessings~

Saw you tonight in Primal Twang. You gave a wonderful performance. Despite all of the enthusiasm with rock/electric/big beat guitar music, your music was the most memorable and moving.
